“Kokochi Cafe Musubino” is an old private house cafe restaurant that is standing in the Kannawa hot spring that is surrounded by steam all over the town. The hospital that was built in 1908 was renovated and opened in 1999. The area around the restaurant is recommended for strolling around the back alley, where you can still see the traditional landscape of the hot spring resort. The interior of the building that has been revived for 100 years has a calm atmosphere and the space that has been used for years will warm your body and mind.
In order for the umami of the ingredients themselves to play a major role in the dishes, they use methods such as 50 degree washing and low-temperature steam, and they try to make homemade dishes that takes time and effort for each ingredient. The “Kokochi Steamed Set” which has been popular since the opening is prepared with original dishes with “Seiro (Buckwheat Noodles served on a Bamboo Strainer)” as the main dish that brings out the flavor and aroma of the vegetables. The cafe menu is filled with handmade sweets and drinks which make you feel relaxed, so you can also drop by for a break.
In the cafe space on the 1st floor and the multipurpose space on the 2nd floor, events such as music live and “Sake no Kai” are held, and exhibitions and workshops are also held. It is a restaurant filled with the owner’s thoughts like “I want to be a café where people can gather.” as a place for the local and tourist community. Finally, “Kokochi Cafe Musubino” is by no means superior to modern buildings in terms of comfort. However, I want you to enjoy the time in which you can feel the atmosphere of the old folk houses, which you can only feel the history of. “
