Fishing by Utase sailing ship is tradition of Ashikita, Kumamoto, Japan. It started around 400 years ago at the Setouchi sea and was introduced to Ashikita around 1870. It is really beautiful when the ship opens the white sails on the sea. Ashiaka-ebi prawn and Ishi-ebi prawn are caught by the ship and they are famous from Ashikita, Kumamoto. You will listen to the story told by fisherman/woman and enjoy a special lunch box full of fisherman’s dishes on the ship.
