Forget the everyday and spend extravagant travel time in a single inn in the wilderness

5 minutes by car from the center of Kurokawa Onsen. There are no buildings around and you can hear the stream of Chikugo River from the forest. Located in such a natural place, the “Yamakawa” is a house with fresh greenery in the spring, deep greenery in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall and snow in the winter, so you can enjoy the natural scenery as it is. If you look at the scenery of each of the four seasons from the guest room or the open-air bath, you will soon forget your daily life.
The hot spring source that has been familiar to locals for a long time has two characteristics. The first one is the “sulphur spring” which has been used as a medicinal bath for a long time, and the “Yakushi no Yu” in the indoor bath has a faint sulfur fragrance and a brown-colored flower dancing. The [sodium chloride bicarbonate sulfate spring] that is poured into the open-air bath is appreciated by women as the “Bihada no Yu” that is effective for beautiful skin. There are 7 baths in the 3000 tsubo area, and you can enjoy various baths like the open-air bath, tub bath and private bath surrounded by nature. Drinking local beer in the foot bath while taking a rest in the fireplace during the Yumeguri no goma is recommended for making memories of your trip.
You can enjoy the Kaiseki Ryori that the head chef is proud of with carefully selected local seasonal ingredients. The fresh vegetables from Aso and the popular “scallion” are made with carefully selected ingredients by the chef. If you make a reservation at least a week in advance, macrobiotic kaiseki is also available, so those who have allergies or concerns about ingredients can enjoy their meals without worries.
After the meal, you will be healed from the heart while feeling the moon and stars that you cannot taste in the city and nature itself in the “moon-viewing platform” where you can see the river. The fireflies that appear across the river from June to July are also recommended. There is also a small library inside the building where you can enjoy a relaxing time in a calm atmosphere that you can’t usually enjoy.
For sightseeing around the area, the hot spring town of Kurokawa where there are stylish cafes and souvenir shops is recommended and you can pick up and drop off if you wish. If you drive around, there is also the “Daikanbo” where you can enjoy the superb view of Aso, and you can also see the magnificent Aso Godake. ”
